Tobias Kjaergaad, Exchange Student from Denmark, 2014/15

Guest Speaker :Tobias Kjaergaad introduced in eloquent form by Secretary Hugh.

Tobi is on a gap year having finished high school in Denmark. He wanted to see Australia again.

This week he is staying with Kevin and Lara Watson. He has been back in WA since the 11th of January but hasn't planned much although he is heading north on the 13th of February.

At the end of February he is heading over to Melbourne to catch up with his girlfriend and they intend to spend some time travelling up the east coast hopefully as far as Cairns. His visa runs out in April and then he intends to go home.

When he returns home he is going to enrol in a university program to do his Bachelor of Technical Management.

Secretary Hugh: What work have you been doing since you left school in Denmark? Worked in a metal fabrication workshop for six months

Kim Stokes was delighted to deliver the vote of thanks

Tobias with AG Clark and PP Tony

Rotarian Robert: Where will your university qualifications take you? Most likely designing and fixing machinery, similar to those in metal factory

AG Clark: What was it like going back to Denmark after your year here? It was good to be home, smooth transition - cold!

Rotarian Phillip: What do you think the benefits were of coming to Australia? There were many but mainly a much broader view of life and the opportunities

Sec Hugh: Can you explain your tattoos?   Kangaroo - love of Australia, Beach and skateboard - the good things in life, Compass and Hourglass - Travel is so important

Rotarian Raymond: What was your working experience like? Not that enjoyable but not too difficult and well paid

A vote of thanks is offered by Rotarian Kim, who [never] comes up short.
