We apparently did not have a guest speaker, and I am not sure if Mark Long got a chance to say much about the next Theatre 8 production. This is a classic music hall in the old style complete with a meal. “Deadwood Dick” is a rootin’ tootin’ melodrama of the 1890’s and runs last weekend of Nov to first two of December. I first met Mark when he appeared in a comedy “It Runs in the Family” in 1999 and have seen him develop into a very talented actor and director. I had the pleasure of directing him in “Are You Being Served” in 2008 where he played Mr. Humphries to perfection!

Many members will recall I was president of Theatre 8 from 2003 to 2008, having left due to a disagreement on the future direction of the theatre. T8 now has a newly elected committee and as a director of a new company in Geraldton (Cast Away Theatre Company Geraldton Inc) I am looking forward to working with T8 in the promotion of theatre arts in Geraldton!
