QPT was chock a block!

District Conference 2012

The theme of our District Conference this year was "Inspiring Tomorrow's Leaders" and right from the start it achieved just that! After a fantastic opening on Friday Night at the Museum Boardwalk, we were treated to  challenging plenary sessions and break out groups in the afternoon facilitated by our young community leaders. We were challenged on how to make Rotary relevant and attractive to Gen X & Y who are keen to be part of community service, but approach it differently. An example is that social media is the norm and Rotary needs to use this medium to promote itself to the world.

The Saturday evening was held at our Red Hill Concert and was an outstanding success. The Rotarians seemed to love the quirkiness of a meal and concert in the bush!

Relections on Sunday

The Governor, Malcolm McCusker and friends!

Reflections on Sunday at The HMAS Sydney II Memorial was a moving experience followed by a Hearty Foodbank breakfast!

Sunday morning's plenaries continued the theme, and the Four Way Test speaking competition finals were held. Concluding at 1.00PM, it was agreed that this was one of the best conferences many had been to and a credit to the organisers and to Geraldton!
