Bribery Will Get You Anywhere. |
With the promise of chocolate biscuits and a few other goodies interest was high for the assembly which enables new board members and others to understand their roles and define the objectives of the district for the coming year. The timing allows for a smooth transition from the old board to the new. The venue was the Master Builders Centre and this was an ideal location as the event was conducted as a teleconference which enabled the whole district to participate rather than regional centres missing out. Some of the topics up for discusion were, themes and goals, how to be an effective club, administration, public relations, membership, the Rotary Foundation and District coordinated programs. |
We had a good representation from our club with nine members attending out of the twenty attendees. Technology allows us to link up and communicate using a screen which is always going to be better than just a phone link. Other clubs outside of Geraldton included Broome, Quairadingand Kununurra. There was only one short period where we lost contact and that allowed us to partake of the chocolate and pillow biscuits. Once again we were very fortunate to have access to the MBA facility and thank Di Gilleland for arranging this venue. |
